J.J. Russell '29 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is J.J. Russell.  I am a great student and athlete.  I maintain straight A's all year during school and always try to have a positive attitude on and off the field. I like to hangout with my teammates as much as possible and have fun on the field by winning and competing at a high level. I always try to stay locked in to try to keep a good mentality understanding that baseball is a failure sport. I use my speed to help me on the base path and on defense.  My strong throwing arm on the field and on the mound help my team in tournament play.  My ability to spray the entire field with a line drive mentality helps keep my batting average around .500.  I would like to pursue baseball as long as I can playing in college and potentially the MLB like my father.  

A couple of good highlights for me would be 1) getting the tournament MVP last fall at Ripken and winning game pitcher.  2) Hitting .491 through the entire 2024 season over 200+ at bats.  3) My fastball went from 64 to 74 from 2023 to 2024.  I am hoping to get to 80 this year by end of summer and mid upper 80's in 2026.
