Personal Statement

My name is Billy Collins, I am from Hatfield, PA and I play 1b/DH for North Penn High School, class of 2018. I am interested in playing baseball at the highest level. Outside of school I also play for the Hatfield/Towamencin American Legion team. When I am training or playing baseball, I always give 110%. My goals include attending a good academic college and playing baseball at a high and competitive level. I am fully committed to being a great student athlete. I am very coachable and believe with my abilities, strong work ethic and positive attitude, I could help make your team even better.

2018 uncommitted 1B Billy Collins (North Penn) turned in the top bat exit velocity of the day at 95 mph and took an impressive round of batting practice that included a number of balls hit of the blue monster in left with one that cleared the 35 foot wall. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound right-handed hitter went on to go 2-for-5 with a double in game action with three solid barrels in at bats in which he made outs. Physical 6-foot-3, 230-pound right-handed hitter took the top round of batting practice on the day, routinely barreling the baseball with authority, including a long home run over the 35 foot wall in left field. Displayed consistent ability to backspin the baseball with present power and a bat exit velocity of 95 mph. Went 2-for-5 with a double in game action while barreling the baseball in every at bat. Showcased solid 84 mph arm strength across the diamond and capable footwork around the bag at first base.

6-foot-3, 230-pound right-handed hitter starts from an open stance and initiates his swing with a knee-to-knee stride displaying balance through extension. Took one of the better rounds of batting practice on the day showcasing the ability to create backspin with present power to both gaps. Registered a 96 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.76 60 yard-dash. Displayed active feet and a soft glove hand defensively with accurate 79 mph arm strength across the diamond. Physical athlete moves very well for a prospect his size. Uncommitted senior will likely draw heavy interest in the months ahead and is likely to make an early offensive impact at the next level.
