Jake Neiderer '30 Recruiting Profile

Coaches,

I love the sport of baseball. I started the game later than many of my initial travel teammates, which required me to have a greater focus and dedication to excel. Learning this work ethic early is what differentiates me. This work ethic is also an asset as I continue towards my dream of exceling at Malvern Prep and playing college baseball. 

I have an above average arm (velocity), with a strong two-seam fastball that tails. I have a high strikeout/ground ball rate. I mix in a slider and changeup. I have a strong mental presence on the mound, with confidence and the ability to work through hits, runners and fielding errors. In center field, I have above-average speed and ball instincts, which allow me to efficiently cover a lot of ground. My strong arm aids in throwing out runners. From an offensive standpoint, despite a slender build, I can drive the ball into the gaps with strength.  My speed then allows me to be a threat on the base path. 

While I work hard all year with my travel team, school team, pitching coach, hitting coach, and strength training, I work equally hard in the classroom. I have been on the honor roll every semester and strive to earn grades that can provide me with the opportunity to attend a selective college. I believe my work in the classroom, on the field, and as a solid family member have made me well rounded and prepared to meet my goals.
