Hello, my name is Cooper Nelson. I am 17 years old and play baseball for FTB/DB9 Phillies Scout NE 2026 17u. I've always had a very strong passion for the great game of baseball, and over the years, have come to realize that this is more than a game. From waking up early on the weekends, to going to the cages with my dad to hit and the late-night bullpen sessions, this sport has become a very important part of how I spend my time and how I live my life.
Baseball is a very important to me, on and off the field. This game has taught me responsibility. It has shown me how to take failure and turn it into success, which has been an invaluable life lesson. It has shown me discipline. And most importantly, what hard work is.
While I love playing, being a good teammate is just as important. I'm the type of player that will also be a teammate's greatest cheerleader. We don't always have a good game, and that's all part of the game. But, I'll be there to encourage my brother's and tell them to get him back out there. Being a team player and confidant is just as significant as getting an out or base hit. I’ve been told by my coach, “I’m the ‘goo’ that holds the team together!"
Individual success is great, but team successes are greater!
I work hard and play hard, and want nothing more than to continue to do so. I am still growing, evolving and honing my craft. My greatest wish is to play baseball at the collegiate level. That being said, I will strive to succeed no matter what I have to overcome. I love this sport and am very passionate about it and consider myself fortunate for all that it has given me.
