Colin Thomas '28 Recruiting Profile

I am a class of 2028 Middle Infielder and Right Handed Pitcher, although I have played every position on the field.  I love baseball and want to play for as long as I am able, and would like to find a career in baseball whenever the game decides my playing days are done.  I just completed my Freshman at Cardinal O'Hara High School and was the only Freshman to earn a Varsity letter, getting time as both a Pitcher in relief as well as playing 2nd and 3rd base throughout the season.  I began the season on the JV Team, leading the team both in strikeouts and ERA as a Pitcher as well as in Batting average as a hitter/position player.  I worked hard last offseason to get bigger, faster and stronger, as I want to be able to compete at the highest possible level and become the best version of myself.  In October of 2024 I was 5'8" and 130 pounds, but as of June, 2025 I am currently 5'9" and 165 pounds.  I continue to push myself in the gym so that I can be as physical a player as possible.

Currently, I am playing with US Elite Mid-Atlantic Scout 15U and we just made the round of 32 (out of 168 teams) at the PBR National Championship in Lakepoint, GA.  During the tournament I pitched game 1 and game 5.  In game 1 I pitched 6 innings and racked up 10 strikeouts, while in game 5 I went 5 innings with 2 strikeouts and had a no hitter until the 5th inning when I surrendered 1 hit.  In addition, for the travel season so far over the course of 4 tournaments and 17 games I have a slash line of .395 / .458 / .512.  I lead my team in innings pitched, strikeouts, and Batting average against while also being in top 3 for batting average, on base percentage and slugging.

My Coach at O'Hara advised me at the year end one-on-one meeting that he anticipates me starting at Shortstop next year as well as getting more innings on the mound and my goal will be to earn All Philadelphia Catholic League (PCL) honors.
