Christopher Steph Yurchak '18 Recruiting Profile

           I overcame being a full year younger than my classmates.  I experienced being ignored as the smaller pudgy kid, but now that I am 6'3 and a team leader, those who ignored me now look up to me, not just because of my height, but because of my ability.  I have become a bridge to gap the social classes to blend my classmates together! I personally enjoy taking the younger, less experienced players under my wing to help them. I am very fast, and I can anticipate where a ball will go the minute it leaves the bat, so I can effectively do my job in the outfield.  I am a 4.0 student who enjoys excelling in my academics. 

           In July 2015, I watched my family's home burn down from the Emergency Room TV, as I suffered smoke inhalation from trying to save our home.  We still are displaced in a tiny temporary home while we rebuild, but this did not stop me from being a major part of the 2015 Championship Babe Ruth Winning Team!  Thank goodness my jersey was in the washing machine at the time of the fire!   I take nothing for granted now, and I feel I can overcome anything!!
