2017 Spring Highl...Personal Statement
I am an all-around student athlete. As a student at McCallum High School, I am in the Fine Arts Academy and I am completing my academic tract within STEM focusing on architecture and engineering. I also joined National Honors Society last year as a junior. I am currently a Life Scout in Troop 410. I am completing my Eagle project this fall and expect to receive my Eagle Scout award by the end of 2017. I am the starting center fielder for my high school and play summer ball with the Round Rock Express youth baseball program. This past spring as a first year varsity player I was named All-District OF, unanimous vote by the coaches. I was also named 2nd team All Centex OF. I am a right handed side arm pitcher. I have also played catcher, short stop & 3rd base for my high school. I was recruited to play for the RBI Austin regional team and played CF, relief pitcher and first base.

- Latest Showcase Report 2017 South Uncommitted Showcase Nov 04, 2017 PG Grade: 8 Eric "Koehler" Vandament is a 2018 OF/RHP/MIF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Austin, TX who attends McCallum HS. Medium athletic build, has some present strength with room for more. Right handed hitter, hits from an open bent knee stance with a deep and high hand load, swings hard and creates some bat speed, line drive contact to all fields, can shorten his swing with load adjustments. 6.85 runner, shows some arm strength in the outfield with young throwing mechanics. Also pitched, side arm release point with a good delivery for that style, stays balanced and directional well. Fastball topped out at 81 mph, very consistent velocity, has some sink and run low in the zone but flattens up over the plate, threw only fastballs in two innings of work. Has the athleticism to keep improving with strength and adjustments. Good student.
