Write up from a Perfect Game scout: "Benjamin Ludwig is a 2018 RHP/MIF with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Austin, TX who attends Westlake HS. Lean frame, competes on the mound and showed a compact arm action, high 3/4 slot with a smooth online delivery. Fastball sat 78 to 81 and worked both sides of the plate with it, set up his curveball at 66 with 11/5 arc and showed some developing depth and tight spin. Showed he was able to control the run game by changing his looks and generated weak contact. On the infield he picked out the hop he wanted, fielded the ball out front, funnel to stomach with momentum to first and made all throws online with accuracy. At the plate he stands with even weight distribution, has simple mechanics, takes a short leg lift its internal rotation, barrel falls behind shoulder with elastic tension, works up to the ball and on plane, made solid contact and worked line drives to all fields. Great student."
