My aspiration has always been to play baseball in college and be a contributor on and off the field. I am not afraid of hard work and I work hard to make myself and my team better every day. I don't exclude myself from everybody else, I would rather the team get better than just myself getting better. At the end of the day one player cannot win the game by themselves it's a team effort. I have been told that one of the things that sets me ahead of others, is my knowledge of the game and my keen awareness of what is happening at all times on the field and knowing where the plays are. As a first baseman, I do not just make the out at first, I come off quick and look for the next out on the field.
I don't let setbacks get me down. I had been looking forward to my Junior year, as I put in the extra work in the off season and was looking to lead my team into the playoffs. However, at the beginning of the district season, I suffered back to back injuries (shoulder and concussion) which kept me out of lineup for part of the season. I knew my team was counting on me, so I worked hard to get back on the field as soon as I could.
In the classroom I have a 3.6 GPA and I am a Peer Assisted Leader for elementary students, which is a position that I had to interview for and be selected to. I played Soccer and Basketball growing up, but have always enjoyed baseball the most and look forward to continue playing in college.
