Hello, my name is Carson Lorch, I am 5'7" and weigh 147 pounds. I currently attend Cy Woods High school as a sophmore and will graduate in 2022. I have been playing baseball for as long as I can remember and as I've gotten older my love and skill for the game has greatly increased. I love nothing more than being on the field playing the great game of baseball. I am primarily a middle infielder, but can adapt and play almost every position. I have a important spot in every lineup I am put in, whether its getting on base as much as possible or providing RBI's for the team. I can come through and provide for my team. In this offseason alone I have been able to put on about 10 pounds of muscle and have been able to become faster, jump higher, and be an overall stronger person.
As I progressed in my baseball career at a younger age a tragedy had come over my entire family, my dad had been diagnosed with colon cancer. Obviously this was extremely hard for my family, but we pushed on knowing the possible outcome this disease could produce. For about a year my father fought, and fought as hard as he could, but in September of 2014, he passed away, I was 10 at the time. My father was an excellent coach and mentor for me in baseball and at the time I didn't know what I would do regarding baseball, but with incredibly helpful people and a great family, I was able to work harder, and better than ever before.
I would love to play baseball at a D1 college, but I am open to other options as my main goal currently is to play in college. In the classroom I am very coachable and have a good work ethic when it comes to education. I challenge myself with higher level classes to show that I am not only a capable player, but also a good student. I would like to be able to attend a school relatively close to home, but if a great offer arises I would definitely consider it. I do not mind the size of the school, I will attend a small or big school depending on if it matches my expectations and education level.
I appreciate you viewing my profile and personal statement, and wish you a great rest of your day or evening.
