Personal Statement
My name is Dylan Driskill. I have been playing baseball since the 3rd grade at which time I fell in love with the game. I am a fierce competitor and enjoy nothing more than a win on the diamond. I am currently a Senior at De Leon High School in De Leon, Texas.
Throughout my baseball career, I have had the opportunity to play every position. I am most comfortable at second base or shortstop, but I am willing to play any position. I believe that after playing so many different positions, I have become a much more versatile player. I am a strong bat in the lineup, right side dominant.
As a freshman I attended Crane High School in Crane, Texas where I played on the varsity team. As a freshman, I was named as 1st Team All District Shortstop and Team MVP. In addition, as a freshman, I broke my school’s record for most triples in a season.
I missed the entire 2018 baseball season after having undergone Tommy John surgery and having the ulnar nerve relocated in my right arm. I made the most of my comeback in the opening game of the 2019 season with 3 hits, 3 runs scored, 3 RBI’s and was named Player of the Week for the Crane Golden Cranes. However, I was unable to play the full season my junior year due to having scar tissue removed.
I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to read my personal statement, and good luck in the upcoming baseball season.
