Personal Statement
I became interested in my sport when I was seven years old. I became interested in baseball when I heard some of my friends were playing the sport. Once I tried it I never stopped playing baseball. Baseball has taught me that I am very humble. I am grateful for where I am in life, especially in my baseball career. I have learned over my years of playing baseball to not be afraid to make mistakes on and off the field. I don’t seek attention as it can be a sign of rudeness. My academic goal for high school this year is a 4.0 GPA. And also to get good scores on my SAT and ACT.
I was also fortunate to have the support of my father. I did not know my dad and most of his siblings played sports. I was unborn at the time they played. Baseball has allowed my father to spend a whole lot of time with me, teaching me the basics of the game, and to play the game with aggression and passion. He uses the game to teach me about life. That I must have discipline, drive, work ethic, and respect for the game and others. He works with me every day while my mom works on keeping me focused on my education. My father always points out to me that I should listen to my coaches.
A unique skill that I possess is the ability to learn very fast and to perform above my stature. I am a very quiet person and I like to be in quiet places most of the time. I don’t like to get in trouble so I keep to myself. I don’t like to go to parties because you can get into problematic situations with people you don’t know. I like to be involved with constructive people who like to get things done, like me. I am not very outgoing and when I am not working out or playing in a baseball game I just stay home and relax. I am a kind person that helps others.
