Michael O’Brien '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi! My name is Michael O'Brien and I am in the class of 2023 at St. John's School in Houston, Texas. 

I love everything about the game of baseball. I love to compete. I love to win. I love being with my teammates. I love to study and learn about it. I love doing anything I can to help my team. Most of all, I love all the hard work that goes into it. My parents have told me that there is no substitute for hard work.  I have worked hard and will continue to work hard to be the best player I can be. I would be very grateful for an opportunity to continue playing baseball at the collegiate level.

In the end, nothing is more important to me than my education. I always strive to do my best in the classroom, and I love the feeling of getting a good grade knowing what I did to achieve it. I have always tried to have a good relationship with my teachers, and can be counted upon to participate in class.

I love to lead people. As the son of a coach, I understand how important a good leader is to a team. I always treat my teammates and coaches with respect.  I try to lead by example and push my teammates to be the best they can be. I hold myself and my teammates accountable for the things that we do. I love to help people, and I can empathize with them as well.
