Baseball has been my passion since I was 4 years old and it is in my blood. My grandfather was an All American baseball player in college and drafted and my uncle was also a baseball players and was drafted by the Astros. He played in the minor leagues for several years. My aunt was an All American softball player. So needless to say, I have been surrounded by baseball and softball my whole life.
When I was little my biological father left and I have not seen him since. All I really remember is that he has never seen me play baseball because he did not like the game. This challenge has made me passionate about the game and a team player. My mom and step dad (the man I call dad now) have helped me through the tough days and taught me perseverance. My faith has also helped, as well as my relationship with my coaches and teammates.
My character, loyalty and work ethic on the field are some of my strongest assets. Respecting my coaches and teammates and trying to be a leader by supporting them whether we are up or down is imperative. I learned at a young age that if I was disrespectful that my mom would drag me off the field by my hair and that I would not play the rest of the game. Respect is huge part of being on a team, even if I disagree.
I am excited to see what the next four years have in store for me and the adventures that lie ahead. I have watched my cousin be recruited for softball and look forward to a future playing baseball.
