When I attend baseball camps, I realize why baseball is such a difficult sport to get to the next level. Baseball is a game of skill which comes in all different shapes and sizes which obvious by looking at Jose Altuve from the Astros. Unless you're pitching 94 mph its hard to standout amongst the other players. What makes me standout is that I realize that if I strikeout I have about 5 seconds to get over the frustration because my teammates are counting on me to bounce back and hit a triple next at bat. You can't be selfish in the game of baseball. I know my teammates are holding me accountable as well as I am holding them. Being the best athlete requires commitment, and determination to give it your all which I ask no less from my teammates to win. My goals are simple and that is be the best student athlete as well as to help my teammates to be the best they can be. I respect my coaches and realize the importance in team chemistry and the importance of winning. I've worked hard both in the classroom and on the field to achieve my goal in finding a program that I can call home. I'm realistic with my college choices but with that said I am ambitious and extremely coachable. I realize my hard work is showing because during a recent UT Camp in Austin Texas, one of the coaches observed me batting came up to me and said I did a great job and asked about my grades and where I went to school . As well, I have the opportunity to play in one of the hardest districts in Texas 5A which is only making me a better player by facing some of the best players in South Texas. I'm excited that I have the opportunity to purse my goals yet nervous in that I feel that a majority of schools have selected there 2016 prospects. I hope this will help to find a program that will help me achieve my goals as well as to help the team achieve there goals.
Respectfully,
Xavier
