Personal Statement
In life there are two types of people; those that float through life reacting to circumstances and those that are intentional and proactive in creating opportunities for success. I pride myself in being the latter of the two. On the field, I am a driven competitor and in the classroom, I strive for excellence. Academically, I feel a career in law or engineering would suit me because I think both jobs would require hard work and perseverance to attain. I hold myself to an extremely high standard as I challenge my teammates to do the same. My expectation of my team is to be pushed by coaches and my fellow athletes to win. I personally want to win at everything I do, whether it is sports, academics, or my relationship with Christ. It is important to me to be an asset to an athletic program, especially one that values leadership, accountability, effort and hard work. I believe there are always ways to be a better athlete and man, and I also believe that you never stop learning. My desire is to be on a team that is a strong brotherhood and demands a commitment from players for personal best in order to achieve success and build champions. I want my college years to be ones of growth and transformation into the man God has planned for me as my teammates and I continue to look for ways to improve ourselves and our team. I would like the opportunity to attend a school that helps prepare me to conquer life and one where I can develop a network of lasting relationships. My faith in Jesus guides me and drives me to carry myself with the utmost respect and honor. I understand that what I do and say is a direct reflection on my teammates, my coaches, my school, my family, but most importantly my God.
