2025 Spotlight #2
2025 SpotlightMy name is Kyle Mauldin. I am a 2022 graduate of Wylie East High School in Wylie, Texas. I am currently attending TCS Post Grad in Melissa, TX, and I believe I am capable of playing baseball at the next level. My biggest strength is that I know the game and keep the simple things simple, while making the big things look simple with consistent execution. I’ve played every position on the field and know what to do in any given situation. Throughout high school, I focused on outfield (mainly CF) and minimal pitching. I am able to hold runners at 2nd or 3rd with the threat of my throws from center. My physical strength is still increasing, which you can see at the plate even in the last 6 months or so. At TCS, my focus is pitching. I left high school touching 90, and after 6 weeks at TCS I am now touching 92, with 3 other pitches in my pocket. I have also trained in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since I was 12. I have always had confidence in my ability and my knowledge. I had a very intelligent, baseball minded coach when I got into select baseball at about age 9. Throughout high school I have also played for the Dallas Tigers Central division on Coach Jay Johnson’s team. I feel that Coach Johnson, along with Paul Ahearne and David Lovell, have prepared me to play at an elite college level. In the summer of 2022, I was able to play with the Dallas Mustangs and learn from the incredible Sam Carpenter and Gage Green. I am excited for this year at TCS, and to see how I may be a good fit for your program. Thank you for taking the time to read my statement. I look forward to talking with you soon.
