Pierce Taylor '27 Recruiting Profile

Like most kids, I grew up playing baseball. My parents put me in tee ball at 4 years old and they love to remind me of how I ran down to 1st waving at my mom. One of the best things my parents did for me is to put me in school a year ahead of other kids my age. That means that as I got to high school, I was a lot younger than my teammates. This is different than most parents who hold their kids back a year to make them bigger and stronger than everyone else. Rather than see this as a negative against me, I used it to my advantage and worked even harder to be the best. No one ever knows I am the youngest because I play up to the skill level ahead of me. This mentality has worked out for me. As a 15 year old Sophomore last year, I DH’ed for the Varsity team and ended the season with the best batting average on the team at .432. I ended up #56 of all hitters in the State of Utah. 

Baseball is my passion. I have made goals my whole life for what I wanted to do with baseball. I played rec ball, knowing I wanted to play travel ball and I started that at age 11. Once I had played a couple of years of silver level travel/comp baseball, I wanted to take it to the next level by playing for GBG. I did that for one year before high school. My goal going into high school was not only to make the team but play varsity. I made that dream come true this past year and I look forward to college baseball as the next step in my goals.  I will do whatever it takes to be the best.  I am looking for a great fit with a college that not only has a fantastic baseball program but has the educational options that will help me after college to continue to excel.
