Personal Statement
The highlight of my baseball career happened at baseball practice, when a high school coach stopped by to see me play. I didn't know he was going to be there and I had never met him before, but after watching me hit for five minutes, he asked me to come and play for his team. I realized he saw something in me, it gave me a boost of confidence! I started playing baseball when I was four years old. Ever since then I have loved the sport.
My main goal while I am in high school is to get my GPA up to 3.5 or higher. Some of my strengths include being really good at Math and I enjoy Language Arts. I am still exploring College options, both with where to go and what major will be best. Throughout my baseball career I have learned a lot about myself, one thing has stood out, I can push myself to a point that I did not know was possible, and when I do I become better at baseball.
During a recent recovery from a broken elbow (at the beginning of the season) I continued to go every day to practice and I attended all of the games. I made a commitment to my team, and even though it was pretty miserable to have to sit back and not play, it only made me more committed to heal strong. When I finally got my cast off and was released to play, my first game back I hit the first home run of the season, I was one of the best players on the team all season.
I am a determined baseball player, and I believe I would be a good fit for any college baseball team. I focus on keeping a positive attitude even during a tough game, and when we are down, I do my best to drive in points. Baseball is my sport and being on a team is what I love!
