Personal Statement

Hello, my name is Jaden Herwick. I am committed and dedicated to the sport of baseball. This has made me not only a better ballplayer on the field but also a better person in the world. I am motivated and always ready to put hard work into baseball and most importantly my studies at school. I am a junior at Thomas Jefferson High School in Auburn, Washington. I always take pride in my schoolwork and I am just as serious about baseball and always continuing with that mindset. I stay after school if I am feeling challenged in any classes to maintain a very high GPA. I am enrolled in running start to get a head start into college and I finished my first quarter in it with all A’s and a 3.7 GPA.

I encourage my teammates to stay eligible and I am always communicating and being a leader on the field. I also play on other high school teams such as football and basketball. Sports has always been huge part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I have been playing baseball since I was six years old. When I don’t have practice, I am putting in extra work by myself, whether it is in the gym or working on my game. It is my deep passion in life that I continue to play the game I love after high school.

I earned a starting role on the varsity baseball team as a sophomore, moving up mid-season (started on JV the first half of the season), and ended the season with the 2nd most RBI’s on varsity. My primary position is centerfield, but I can play anywhere in the outfield. I am a left-handed hitter and right-handed thrower and typically bat lead-off in the lineup because of my speed. In my junior year on varsity my coach asked me to be a captain on the team and I happily accepted that role. I make extra effort to be competitive in every game I play. When it comes to college I would like to major in Sports Medicine and/or Physical Therapy. Thank you for your time and reading my profile.
