I’m a hard worker, good listener, and don’t take playing baseball for granted. I constantly work on improving my skills and physical strength. In addition to my high school team practices, I do additional weight training and conditioning. With the help of my twin brother Ian, I also put in extra time working on my baseball skills. I’ve played many different sports (soccer, football, basketball and lacrosse) and have had many coaches over the years, each with their own style, and I have learned valuable things from all of them.
I never take a game for granted. Recovering from a past injury that required time and disciplined physical therapy before getting back in the game, gave me a special appreciation for playing baseball. My experience of recovering from that injury reinforced lessons of the importance of patience and hard work.
Having a brother who also loves baseball has been great for my development over the years. I think it also makes me a natural at being a good teammate, where I enjoy offering everyone on the team encouragement and support, and value the special relationships of being on a team.
Education is very important to me so I am interested in a school offering strong academics. I met my goal of increasing my GPA this year, and worked hard to achieve the ACT score I hoped for. I also have goals for baseball. I go to camps and showcases so that I can get statistics to help me set goals. The key things I want to work on are my speed and hitting, and I always work on improving my pitching.
I enjoyed my two fall leagues (one Legion and one wood bat league), playing on my high school Varsity team, and also enjoying playing Senior Legion. Now I'm working hard and having fun during my second year on Varsity.
