Personal Statement

Coaches have always doubted me becasue of my size, but that has never made me feel any less of a player. I am a very hard worker, and I am always trying to get coaches to help me to make myself an even better player. I am a good role model to most players , because i never give up and I always give it my all. Freshman year my coach didn't show much interest in me at first. I had to prove to him that I deserved to play varsity. I was put onto juniour varsity where I was very dominant as a pitcher. I went 6-0 with a 1.76 era and 52 strike outs. That surely got my coaches attention. So he finally decided to bring me up, but benched me for three straight games. I finally got my opportunity to plat when our third baseman injured himself. I went 2-3 that game with 3 rbi's. After that game he showed much more interest in me. I became our starting right fielder soon after. I ended my varsity season with a .416 batting average, the second highes on our team. The following season I suffered an injury during the football season. I had injured my throwing shoulder and had to attend physical thearpy to rehabilitate it. I had a rather rough sophmore year being injured. I found myself being benched for most of our games and I did not like it at all. I was not used to it and I hated the feeling. After the season I joined a summer travel team. I worked very hard and learned a lot under those coaches. We traveled to St. Louis and participated in a tournament there. I was handed the first start there. It was my first time pitching in several weeks. I pitched seven innings and we took the win, 9-3. I was content with my performance. I ended the tournament with a batting average of .500. I felt my confidence rising. I am now attending a baseball winter program. I hope to win 1st team all conference this year and get the opportunity to play at state this year. I would love to go to college in Florida. I want to major in marine biology and being in Florida will help me reach my goals. I honestly just love to play baseball and I do not want highschool to be the last time I ever play.
