Personal Statement
I've been playing baseball since I was 5 years old, but really fell in love with the game at the age of 10. At the collegiate level my goals are to succeed both athletically, being better than I was yesterday and academically, reaching my GPA goals. When batting, I am very competitive, and especially good with 2 strikes in the count. I am a vocal leader, always encouraging my teammates to have a positive mindset and I lead by example for the rest of my team. My personality allows for me to be very coachable and open to trying something new on the field or for the better of the team. Academically, I love to learn new things and help my peers if they need it.
I have learned to overcome my obstacles by not avoiding them, but by taking them head on and solving the problem I am facing. Uniquely, I have come to understand that baseball is a game of failure, so my current coaches have taught me how to be mentally tough. At my high school, I have been named a scholar athlete both of my years in high school so far. Ultimately, my aspirations are to become a successful student, athlete, and role model for anyone.
