My name is Gehrig Monday and I am a student athlete attending Whitewater HS in the class of 2020. Ever since I was little I was in love with sports and I wanted to play everything. My interests ranged from Baseball to Basketball, to Wrestling and Football. I had even found myself wanting to play Lacrosse at one point in my childhood. All throughout my life I know I will be playing sports. That will be a good goal to accomplish when I am an 82 year old man and maybe by then I would have made the move over to pickleball.
I not only have a passion for playing sports but I have a passion for showing leadership at school, in my community, at church as well as on my teams. Whenever I walk onto the team bus I want my teammates to think “that's our guy.” My High School goal is to be team captain for at least 2 of the 3 sports that I play. I will do anything and everything for my team and my teammates. I take tremendous pride in being a team player and have an absolute desire to compete. Although my high school goals are crucial, my long term goal is to play at the next level and to get a good college education in Communications and Sports Broadcasting/Journalism.
I am a good candidate for your team because I work until the job is done. I am driven, committed, passionate and train with intensity. Although I am an intense person by nature I have a lot of empathy and have always recognized when others are struggling. I am highly reflective and introspective for my age and see what others often miss. I am confident in speaking out against wrongs and do not succumb to peer pressure because of my intrinsic desire to achieve.
