In my 12 years as an all-star cheerleader, I’ve learned the importance of teamwork, how to work out technical issues in various stunt groups, the importance of technique and precision in all parts of a performance, perseverance through difficult seasons, how to work through tumbling challenges and how to help teammates with mental blocks, leadership as a main base, humility when competing with teammates for a spot, discipline when I come into practices early or stay late to complete stunt reps and respect when I follow my coaches without question. My gym’s core values, 'Faith over fear' and 'We before me,' resonate deeply with me. I strive to embody these principles on and off the mat, as they reflect the spirit of teamwork and selflessness that I believe is crucial in cheerleading. While I have primarily performed as a main base and tumbler, I am expanding my skills to include flying. I am open to any role contributing to my team's success, demonstrating my adaptability and commitment to personal growth. My high school has strict rules regarding All-Star cheerleaders participating in school cheer. Still, I seized the opportunity to participate in sideline cheer for a season, relishing the chance to engage with the crowd and support my fellow student-athletes. I am eager to bring that same energy to a college team. I am confident that being part of a cheer team is where I truly belong, and I am excited for the next step in my journey.
