Addison Smith '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Addison Smith! I’m a rising senior at Creekview High School and have competed on both our Competition Cheer team and our Sideline Cheer team as a varsity cheer leader all 4 years. One of the things I love most about my cheer team is that we are like family. Our competition cheer team has qualified for state all three years that I have competed, we won the 6A Georgia State Championship in 2022.  My goal this season is to bring the state title back to Creekview. While I’m involved with my school teams, I maintain a 4.3 GPA in all honors or AP classes. I also compete in All-Star cheer and will be trying out for a worlds team this spring. As a main base, side base, and back-spot I am able to contribute in many ways to our teams success. My background in competitive gymnastics has helped me with elite standing and tumbling passes. I started in gymnastics age the age of 2 and “retired” at 14 as a level 7 gymnast. 

This year I began coaching level 1 and level 2 tumbling as well as, our level 2 half-year team. I have been able to apply my cheer and gymnastics knowledge to my coaching techniques. I enjoy watching my athletes grow and meet their goals. I assisted with the choreography and the development of my level 2 team, through instruction, encouragement, and attention to details. Our first competition, we won a Superior Rating. I want to continue coaching throughout my senior year. 

In college, I would like to join a team that is driven, has a family atmosphere, and offers the opportunity to be a part of the school and community. I consider myself a competitive and compassionate cheerleader. This past season has been composed of injury recoveries, a mental block, and the need to define my purpose. In the last few weeks, I have overcome my mental blocks and am on the mend as far as my injuries are concerned. I am happy to report that my tumbling is back. Overcoming these challenges has allowed me to prove to myself that I can accomplish anything I put my mind to. I am excited to cheer and share my strengths at the next level.
