Personal Statement for Balei Harrison
Hi, I’m Balei Harrison. I’ve been a varsity cheerleader for several years now, doing competition, sideline, and gameday cheer. One of my main roles on the team is backspot, where I help keep things steady and safe for my teammates during stunts—whether we’re performing at games or on the competition floor. Cheerleading has taught me so much about hard work, teamwork, and pushing through challenges. It’s really helped shape who I am today.
I’m proud to be a two-time state champion in gameday cheer. Competing at that level has shown me how important consistency, focus, and resilience are—not just in cheer, but in life. Those wins were about more than just routines; they were about the bond and trust we built as a team. Every practice and performance has been part of something bigger, and I’m really proud to have been part of it.
Beyond cheerleading, I am actively involved in various extracurricular activities and clubs, which have helped me develop strong leadership, time management, and communication skills. Balancing my academic and extracurricular commitments has been challenging at times, but it has also taught me how to prioritize and stay organized. Currently, I maintain a 3.5 GPA, and I am committed to continuing my education with the same level of determination that I bring to all areas of my life.
Looking ahead, I plan to attend nursing school and pursue a career in healthcare. I have always been passionate about helping others, and nursing offers me the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on people's lives. I hope to continue cheerleading at the collegiate level, where I can contribute to a new team and represent my university with pride, while also developing my skills as a healthcare professional.
As I prepare for the next chapter of my life, I am excited to combine my love for cheerleading with my dedication to helping others. The skills and experiences I have gained from being a cheerleader have prepared me to face the challenges ahead with confidence, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence. I am eager to continue pushing myself, both academically and athletically, as I pursue my dreams of becoming a nurse and a collegiate cheerleader.
Thank you for considering my application. I am confident that my experiences and passion will allow me to contribute positively to any future team or program I join.
