My high school cheer experience has had many lows and highs and its made me become a hard worker and a positive attitude to my teams. my freshmen year of high school our goal was to make it to states for the first time in school history. at regional's we got 5th place which was only one place away from making it to states. our team was crushed and very disappointed that we couldnt have another week to our season. that following season, (which was my sophmore year), we took that anger from being only one place away from a goal and we had it fuel our fire at every practice and evbey competition. we wangted to prove to the judges that we wanted it more. Thag year we made it to states for the first time in school history! I learned from those two seasons that hard work beats talent if talent doesn't work hard. both teams from those to years had lots of talent but my sophomore years team had a much better work ethic then freshmen year. my junior year we wanted to not just make it to states but become state champs. After finding out that we got switched to division one we new it was going to be hard to even make it back to states. we used the same work ethic we new we needed to get were we wanted to be and we made it to D1 states. Our team made it to states back to back in 2 different division's. we went into every competition with the mindset of want to take first. even though we weren't state champs I was still incredibly proud of what our team accomplished. all my years of cheer has taught me that its never a straight line to your goals and that you can either work through obstacles or make excuses. When it come to my future cheer career I wont make excuses.
