I started at a young age in gymnastics, doing the mommy and daughter classes as soon as I could crawl. As I began to grow up, I learned very quickly that the floor was my favorite event in the sport. Ultimately, my favoritism for the tumbling-centered event led to my love for cheerleading. Since I was five years old, I enjoyed doing the little chants and performances on the sidelines. Once I grew older and I started working on higher-level skills, my passion came about. I knew I wanted a future with cheerleading. So, till this day, I continue to grow and learn each day as not only an athlete, but as a person because of the support system cheerleading has given me.
My goal as a collegiate cheerleader is to be part of a squad that truly values hard work on the mat. I also value meeting my new teammates and building close-knit relationships off the mat, leading to more success during practices and performances. I’m excited to keep growing as an athlete through the opportunities earned. I’m looking for a program where I’ll be pushed to improve, supported by my teammates and coaches, and inspired every single day.
I’m a team-first kind of person. I stay positive, even in tough moments, and I always try to lift up others. I would describe myself as a coachable athlete, taking feedback well. I bring both power and precision to my skills. I’m reliable under pressure and love pushing myself to get better every day. Whether it’s hitting a stunt or cleaning up technique, I stay focused, determined, and give 100%, not just on performance days, but in every practice. Knowing that every rep counts and makes me not only a better athlete but a better person, motivates me to keep pushing myself and my teammates. I’m the kind of teammate who encourages others, communicates clearly, and always takes responsibility for my performance and attitude. I hold myself accountable, along with having a humble attitude and a strong work ethic.
Academically, I challenge myself with a tough, high-level course load. I strive to keep my grades up through self-discipline and the desire to reach my future career goals. I know how to balance school and cheer, and I bring that same responsibility and drive into every part of my life. My biggest support without a doubt would be my mom. Every minute of every day, she reminds me exactly why I want to be like her when I grow up. She pushes me to be a better person, and emphasizes how important it is to push beyond my limits. I believe it’s the combination of all four, my mindset, my support system, my athletic ability, and my dedication in the classroom that sets me apart.
Being in the gym five to six days a week, multiple times a day, helps me stay consistent with my accomplished skills, while also having an open mind about new skills. Since I was young and leading up to the present day, I continue to grow and learn every single day as not only an athlete, but as a person. Cheerleading has shaped me into a confident, disciplined, and team-oriented individual. It’s more than just a sport to me, it’s a passion that has taught me the value of hard work, resilience, and supporting others both on and off the mat. As I take the next steps in my journey, I carry with me not only the skills I’ve learned but also the spirit and determination that cheerleading has instilled in me. I’m excited for the opportunities ahead and ready to keep pushing, growing, and thriving as a cheerleader!
