I started doing recreational gymnastics when I was 2. Since that time, it has been a huge part of my life. I started the competitive team at Crossfire Gymnastics when I was just 6 years old. Being a part of a smaller team has taught me many things. I've learned how to be a great leader and a positive role model for the younger compulsory and even recreational girls. I enjoy being someone they can look up to.
Through my 11 years of competing I have been very dedicated and always looking for ways I can improve in gymnastics. At competitions, I am extremely positive towards my own teammates as well as girls from the other teams. Even on days when I myself have a rough meet, I always make sure to cheer for everyone else. Competing as a gymnast has given me the opportunity to learn so much. I have learned to have confidence, positivity, good sportsmanship and to never give up.
I have dreamt of being a collegiate athlete for a long time, but I have recently decided to transition from gymnastics to cheer. I will continue to compete in gymnastics through my final year in hight school. In addition to that, I have started training with a cheer coach to help my transition into the college level. I enjoy working with my team and my coaches to continue to improve my skills.
Despite having gymnastics practice 5 days a week, running cross country, and working as a coach, I continue to excel in school. I currently have a 98.3 out of 100 GPA and take advanced and AP classes. School and grades are my first priority as I want to go to medical school to become an obstetrician/gynecologist. I have been successful in managing my time to allow me to continue to do well in school while maintaining active in my extra-curricular activities.
