Hi, I’m Elise and I have been cheering for 5 years now. I did gymnastics growing up but always felt like I was missing something, when I switched to cheer in 6th grade I immediately fell in love with the sport. I cheered competitively for 3 whole seasons and while they were both very mentally and physically hard on me, that never changed my love for the sport. During those 3 seasons I cheered competitively I was a captain for all of them. The coaches put a lot of pressure on me, but ultimately it made me the cheerleader I am today. When I entered high school I was so excited to cheer for my school, but I had to wait until my sophomore year to cheer because they don’t take freshman. I have been cheering on my high school basketball cheer team and competition cheer team for my sophomore, junior, and now senior year. For my junior year I was voted for captain, as most of the team was new I’m so grateful that they felt I was the right fit for this role in the short amount of time they had known me. When I switched from all star cheerleading where I was a base to sideline cheerleading, my coaches wanted me to be a flyer. I stepped right up ready to learn, and became one of our main flyers my first year and have continued this position.
