I was raised in a household by my Mom, a Registered Nurse who impressed upon me the importance of family and friendships, and my Dad, a High School Physical Education Teacher who has guided me to always be active and to enjoy sport activities and the importance of schooling. A big goal for me is to keep a high GPA with while balancing my athletics as well.
I volunteer throughout all athletics, such as refereeing, coaching and score-boarding. I believe that it is important for athletes to provide return something back to the community for the opportunities that like it has provided for myself.
I am a multi-sport athlete. I started playing co-ed rep ice hockey at the age of 6 years. I have also played baseball, soccer and basketball. I started playing field hockey when I was 10 years old. I really have enjoyed the sport ever since I first picked up that field hockey stick. I am left handed in ice hockey which made me stronger and more comfortable playing on my weak side for field hockey. The intensity of ice hockey (including one season of co-ed full contact hockey) really impacted my game play for field hockey, making me a stronger, confident and more stable player.
I now devote my time to field hockey as I have learned to love the game dearly. My goal is to reach the next level which would be to play post secondary field hockey and cherish many achievements from the experience.
