My name is Jade du Toit and I am 5'7 and around 155 lb. I went into my field hockey season not knowing what I was doing, but as time went on I began to understand the concepts and the rules of how to play field hockey. Once I started to get it, I began to focus and improve my skills for this sport I began to love it and started to push myself more and more while on the field. I play defense and am able to take risks on the field, although throughout my season my coaches would sometimes confuse me and put me in positions where I didn't know what I was doing at first, but was able to learn quickly and adapt to the different positions and the situations my coach put me in, and allowing me to grow as a player. Overall I loved playing field hockey and playing defense for my school's team.
My goal for playing field hockey is hopefully to be able to play in college, making my coaches and my parent proud. I strive to accomplish these goals by staying consistent in practice and putting in my all during these practices and games. While being on the field or off I take responsibility for my actions and use my time wisely whether it's studying for a test, finishing up any homework, or participating in class. While in school my main interests are going to PE class, food class, or social class. I have been able to participate in different activities and different situations my teachers put me in, participating and learning different things. Overall I would say I'm a pretty encouraging person and I love to help people on and off the field.
Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this.
Jade.
