Alicia Ncube '24 Recruiting Profile

I am Alicia Ncube. I have been playing hockey since I was five years old. Since first stepped on the hockey field/pitch, I have aspired to play at the college level. I know that playing in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity that could change my whole life. I have a strong strong ball and eye coordination, strong physical attacking and defence skills, mental toughness, and high hockey IQ.

 I am a team leader and try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates. I am very coachable and assist my coach with leading practices and coaching other teammates to success. I strive to be one of the hardest working players and one of the hardest working recruits you’ll find.

    I work hard year round on my hockey skills, participating in Select Hockey, then the last years on a High school team, also participating in years of competitive league hockey, National Hockey, High School tennis, and High School Swimming, and running on weekends which all contributes to my athleticism. In The classroom, I study hard and maintain an average GPA. I am an average student who tries her best to put her all into everything I do, and I am determined to get the results I want. I am one of the founding members of an organization that raises funds for charities and mainly deals with helping and providing for orphans. I am the founder of a bible study group as well that was started recently in the year to help my community express their faith and different beliefs. I also volunteer at a recreational swimming Centre that also deals with under privileged children in the low density areas.

I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the hockey field. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college/university match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all my peers and family, in my community and most of all make my parents proud.
