Hello coaches! My name is Celia Stinson and I am a 2025 midfielder. I currently play at Maine Central Institute (MCI) located in Pittsfield, Maine and am apart of the Black Bear Elite (BBE) field hockey team. I have played field hockey for 5 years now and want to continue my field hockey journey farther to the college level. I received my varsity letter my freshman season and was the starting right mid for my high school team my sophomore season. I was awarded All Conference 2nd team my Junior season.
A question that I always liked to be asked is: why do you love the sport? I find this question to be very reoccurring and love everytime it is asked. This being because it’s a sport that grows onto you. I love the relationships that you can create within the sport and I love that there is always something that you can learn. Like, you never truly know everything about the sport. You’re always finding things you can improve on and even while doing that you can find something new to learn and perfect. I also love the adrenaline pump you get when you walk onto the field hockey field before a game or even just during practice. It’s amazing.
I am someone that can be relied on for things. I stay composed in stressful situations and lift people up when they’re feeling down. I am a quick thinker and am fast on my feet. I work/communicate well with my teammates and peers. I am all for a challenge and thrive under pressure. I never give up, even when the going gets tough and once I have my mind set to something, I never let it go until I have achieved it.
