Since the moment I went to my first field hockey practice it has been my passion. I have such a love for the sport. I love the game, the people, and the atmosphere. People are so encouraging and dedicated. That is the type of person I want to become, not only in college but in life. I started club field hockey in 8th grade with the Malik Stars and played for the U14 and U16 teams. By playing with older girls it gave me more experience in goal and showed me a whole other level of game play. My freshman season of high school I was the starter for the Junior Varsity team and had a shutout season. My sophomore season I was the starter for the Junior Varsity team, and was pulled up to Varsity multiple times throughout the season. I was scored on only three times during the regular season including when I played Varsity. When Varsity playoffs started I was pulled up and was a starter for two games. I was unscored on during the playoffs. During the season I joined Legacy Field Hockey Club. My teams in club and high school have shown an immense amount of work and dedication to the sport. I plan on continuing to exceed expectations with them! It is my goal as an athlete and a student to strive everyday to do my best, become stronger, smarter, and a better player and person. The next step of my journey is the collegiate level. I am ready to take on a program that will challenge me both physicially and academically. Being a part of extracurricular activities outside of field hockey has helped me improve too. For example, leadership skills and perserverance in scouting applies to the game of field hockey. In goal you need to help and guide your team through tough moments, and scouting has enabled me to get better at just that. I know that my positive attitude, perserverance, drive, leadership skills and discipline will make me a great addition to your team!
