From day one I've always been an athlete. I've always wanted to learn more, push harder, go farther, go faster, and challenge my abilities. This drive has brought me to the search for a college that will encourage this athletic drive and help me to succeed in the classroom and on the field. I've never settled for easy. I took on the position of goal keeper when everyone else was too scared. This was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Being goalie has forced me to take a stand and assume a leadership role on and off the field.
I intend to take these leadership skills I've gained and move forward as I mature. I want to lead in the classroom, through excellent work and research. I want to lead on a global level, as I am interested in studying abroad. I want to lead as an athlete because I appreciate what it means to be a part of a team. Being a student athlete is being a part of something bigger than yourself. It's being a part of a community. It's representing your school. Playing at the collegiate level means sacrificing the name on the back of your jersey to play for the name on the front.
This is what I hope to accomplish as a college athlete.
