Hi, my name is Haley Wernig and I am a freshman at Franklin High School. I started playing Field Hockey in Kindergarten and really started to love the sport in third grade when we competed in real games.
In 6th grade I joined the Franklin Premier Field Hockey Club now known as Premier Field Hockey Club and have been with them for four years. This past season, my freshman year of high school, I was a starter on the Division 1 Franklin High School varsity team. My primary positions are left and right wing but I also fill in on the midfield line when needed.
Franklin High made it to the Division 1 Final Four for the first time in school history this 2021 season. We also won our conference, going undefeated. I am honored to have been named as a Hockomock second team all-star. I believe being in the top 8 in the conference for points scored allowed to me to achieve this honor as a freshman (16 goals and 6 assists).
I take great pride in my school work. I'm very well rounded as a student and am starting to give some thought to potential majors in college. In addition to school and Field Hockey, I volunteer for the Lions Heart Community Service program.
I love competing in both field hockey and ice hockey. Field hockey is my true passion and I would love to continue my journey as long as possible.
