My name is Rachael Rallo and I am a Junior at Gloucester High School. I am looking forward to continuing playing Field Hockey my Freshman year of college at any Division school. My ideal school size would be either medium or large. I am 5 feet 6 inches tall, weigh 127 pounds, I can run a mile in 7 minutes and 22 seconds, and the 50-yard dash in 5.38 seconds. After long consideration about where I would like to attend college, I have decided that I would like to remain on the East Coast.
Field Hockey has been a sport that I fell in love with playing since I began in 7th grade. The main position that I have always played is defense. Throughout the years I have also played asmidfielder and on the front line. Through hard work and dedication, I managed to become the lead scorer of my Junior Varsity Team during my Sophomore year of High School. My Junior year I was chosen to play on the Varsity Team as a starter on defense, earning myself the “Coach Ziergiebel Award”. This is also known as the best defensive player of the year award. I am always looking to improve my game by being open to any corrections. When one of my coaches would give me a correction, I would fix it to the best of my abilities. If I did not get it at first then, I would make sure to go home and practice continuously until I could do it. I wish to continue my love for field by playing at a collegiate level.
I will follow my passion for Chemistry by possibly majoring in it. As of right now my Grade Point Average is between a 3.9 and a 4.0. This year, I have challenged myself by taking an Advanced Placement (AP) Chemistry course and mostly all honors courses. I will continue to take AP and honors courses next year. Along with field hockey I also play softball, basketball, and I tap dance. These sports have taught and enhanced my ability to manage my time effectively, balancing school work and sports along with work.
In order to attend college, I will be receiving Federal Student Loans through FASFA. What FASFA does not cover I will assume responsibility for. I am the last of four children to go off to college. Just like my older sisters I will be paying for college on my own. One of my sisters, Marlaina Rallo, is currently attending Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts.
I believe that with my dedication, sportsmanship and my drive to succeed that I will be a great asset to not only your school, but your Field Hockey team. Setting goals for myself have proved to be the key to my success. By achieving an amazing Grade Point Average and being a well-rounded person, I will be inducted into the National Honor Society (Ruth B. Sherman Chapter) in March. I have been working towards becoming a member of the National Honor Society since two of my older sisters were inducted. This year I will be receiving my 15 years award from Miss Tina’s School of Dance. Playing Field Hockey in college is another goal that I have set for myself and I strive to make my dream come true.
