My name is Penny Baroni and I am Class of 2024 athlete. My love and passion for the game of field hockey are some of the many reasons that have made me want to continue on into my collegiate years. I have been on the top Cape Cod Field Hockey Club teams for the past three years. Currently, I play on the top u19 indoor team. I have gone to the National Indoor Tournament with my club team in 2019 and in 2021. My team also placed sixth at the Regional Club Championship in the spring season of 2021.
Along with club field hockey, I play on the Barnstable High School varsity field hockey team. I have been a starter for my high school team since my eighth grade year. I was unable to compete my 2022 high school season due to an injury. During my 2021 season I accumulated six goals and seven assists. I was also named a Cape and Islands Atlantic League All-Star. I am a midfielder and contribute to both the offensive and defensive aspects of the game.
I love to challenge myself to improve my game. I am constantly practicing on my own and doing one on one lessons with my club coach. I also work with a personal trainer to increase my strength year round. I have been described by coaches as being very coachable and hardworking.
Along with field hockey I also play hockey and tennis. I have been on the varsity ice hockey and tennis teams since my eighth grade year for my high school. Last season (2020-2021) I was awarded with the Cape and Islands Atlantic League Sportsmanship Award for ice hockey. I am also very committed to my academics. I am on High Honor Roll with all Honors and Advanced Placement classes. I am also part of the Math National Honors Society, Spanish Honors Society, peer leadership, military support club, DECA, and girls in STEM.
