My name is Macy DeMaio. I am a Senior at Frontier Regional High School located in South Deerfield, Massachusetts and field hockey is my passion. I have been playing field hockey, basketball and softball since fourth grade. I have been on the Varsity field hockey team since eighth grade and a starter since ninth grade. I also play for the Elite HTC Club during the off season. I have been selected as first team, all league for the last two years and was the leading scorer this past season leading my team to the state semi-finals, for the second year in a row.
I have not only honed my athletic skills but also embraced the discipline, communication and the resilience that sports demand. For me, field hockey is more than just a game—it’s a way to challenge myself, build lasting relationships, and contribute to a community of like-minded individuals. My love for the sport has fueled me to try to continue competing at the collegiate level, where I can push my limits, grow as an athlete, and make a meaningful impact on my team.
My ambitions go beyond the field. I am passionate about exercise science, criminal justice and education. I plan to continue developing my skills, in regards to my interests, in college. I have many interests and I am looking to gain some experience in college that will help me hone in on a career where I can really go the distance with my passions. I believe the lessons learned through sports—teamwork, perseverance, and goal-setting—can be applied in real world settings. For me, college is the perfect place to continue my athletic journey while preparing to find the perfect career.
