My name is Ella Holtman and I am an ideal candidate for any collegiate field hockey team. I started playing field hockey when I was 10 and have since devoted much love and time to the sport. If you ask my teammates, you will hear about the two mottos I have developed through playing. First, if you mess up, make up for it. I believe that when playing a team sport, one is required to play their hardest to benefit their teammates. If a mistake is made, one should push herself to make up for it and steal the ball back. That way, one can help both herself and the entire team. Similarly, my second belief is that you should give 100% of your effort 100% of the game. I always remind myself that the 60 minutes of sprinting, rushing, and getting back is worth it. Fatigue will be a blip in your memory while a win lasts forever. Especially with playing midfield, the focal point of the field, I know that my quality of work can transform the entire match. So, in every game, I scream the mottos to my team and whisper them to myself. I like to think that I am relentless, a quality that both wins games and makes me a great player for any field hockey team.
