My name is Isabella Zullo, a class of 2022 prospect looking to play field hockey at the collegiate level. I have been the starting center middie for Smithtown High School West for the last 2 seasons.
Early in my athletic career, I played on club teams for both soccer and softball. When I was in 8th grade, my gym teacher, who was also the field hockey coach, urged me to try field hockey. I did and have never looked back. I knew this was the sport for me! I continued playing 3 sports through 10th grade and have since been focusing solely on field hockey.
I am a student of the game and continue to learn each and every day. I love watching college games to learn more and see the field from a different perspective. I am a hard worker, unselfish teammate and push myself to be the best player and person I can be on and off the field.
Throughout my field hockey career, I have played all field positions, mostly playing center midfield. Having a soccer backround, I have a good understanding of field positioning on and off the ball and have great field vision. I play smart, with composure and have a knack for creating opportunities for my teammates. I feel that controlling possession of the ball is an important component to any team sport.
Along with being an athlete all my life, I have always been a hard working student. I have been inducted to the National Honor Society, National Italian Honor Society and National English Honor Society. I have taken multiple AP and honors classes. Currently I maintain a 3.81 GPA and will continue pushing myself athletically and academically in order to achieve my dreams of playing field hockey in college at the same time earning a great education.
