Hello coaches! My name is Ella Hummel, and I can safely say that field hockey has always been a huge passion of mine. Since the first year I played field hockey in 4th grade for my township’s recreational league, I have always loved it. With the support from my mom and dad, I’ve played every year since then, which has led me to becoming a starter my freshman year for my high school’s varsity team. My coaches and teammates throughout the years have driven me to pursue my goals and work hard, landing me a starting spot on the Philly Hockey Club U19 team. I continue to improve my skills via training clinics, camps, on the field, and even in my free time at home! As I move forward throughout high school, I aspire to move on to the collegiate level. In addition to field hockey, I have been a straight A student since I started middle school in 6th grade, leaving me with a 4.0 GPA. I am also involved in many clubs and community activities. Outside of school I love spending time with family and friends, working at my job, and drawing. I understand the difficulty of refereeing and how much pressure there is to not disappoint, coaches, players, and even spectators. This is why I also referee for my township's recreational field hockey league in the Spring. Here I can help coach younger players and give back to the game that has given so much to me. It has truly shown me how to be a better teammate and leader. That is why I feel that I am the student athlete you’re looking for! I wouldn’t be where I am now without the support of my loving family, great coaches, and the passion that I hold for the game! I look forward to communicating with you and introducing you to my family and me!
