Personal Statement

I have been playing field hockey for over ten years and have a true passion for the game.  Though I am primarily in a mid or forward spot, I have played both offensive and defensive positions, a testament to my speed and versatility on the field.  I work and train hard year-round to give my best effort in every position, every time.  My goal is to play D1 collegiate hockey, earn my spot and contribute on the field in game play beginning my freshman year in 2017.  I also am looking for a quality college education and am currently challenging myself in the high school classroom to develop skills that help me balance hockey and academics.

According to my high school coach:

"Gracey has played a huge role in setting the tempo of games with her speed. Due to her speed and endurance, Gracey plays positions throughout the midfield. She is also a threat on offense, as she does not hesitate to carry the ball into the circle and shoot. In addition, Gracey plays a vital role on offensive and defensive corners. For offensive corners she is the main inserter and for defensive corners she is the fly.  Gracey is also on the stroke unit and has an accurate hard, low shot to the corners. .. Gracey is a very social individual who can always be seen wearing a smile. She has the ability to make all those around her laugh; even in the most challenging of times. However, Gracey also knows when to turn the switch and focus on the given task. Whether it is conditioning, practice, or a game, Gracey always pushes herself and demonstrates a strong work ethic.  Voted Team Captain her junior year, she demonstrates leadership that the coaching staff and her teammates depend on. "

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
