Wil Appleton '17 Recruiting Profile

I am a two year starting Quarterback on my varsity football team - Fr. & So. I also play basketball for my varsity basketball team. My goal is to be the best at everything I do. No matter if that’s in the classroom, in the weight room, or on the field. Even though I might not be the smartest in the class room at the time, or the strongest in the weight room at the moment, or best on the field in that game, it is never because of work ethic. I have strong character and it is not shaken by my surroundings. The ability to understand right from wrong has never been an issue for me therefore I do not cause issues off the field. Additionally, I’m not saying that I make the right decision in everything I do, because God knows that is not the case. But the times I do fall short do not stop me from continuing to push towards my goal. I have started on my varsity football team since my freshman year so leadership is not an issue for me. I know how to rally my teammates around me to keep fighting no matter how hot the practice is, no matter how tired we are, no matter how much we are winning by, or how much we are behind. I have the ability to motivate myself, so when I am in the weight room or on the field alone I am just as focused and just as motivated as I would be with coaches and teammates watching. My faith in Jesus the son of God is strong. I know he has a plan for me and as much as I hope that plans involves me playing collegiate football, I understand His will is much greater than mine. Overall I am a winner, I want and need to win in everything I do no matter how big or small the competition is. My desire to be successful on and off the field, and in life is what sets me apart from the other athletes.
