Playing football in high school allowed me to discover my field capabilities, which started to reflect in my daily mental state. I had always been comfortable playing on the line or in the background, but my coach was not one who allowed anyone to be comfortable, as he expected leadership and greatness from every player. Honestly, him making me uncomfortable was the best thing that happened to me. I began to internalize the leadership qualities I was portraying as the team’s Center, and this confidence started to manifest into my character. I am confident that my college experience will afford me numerous opportunities to define myself and work towards my ultimate goals in life. As a future educator, my goal will be to move students from comfortable places as I know that uncomfortable spaces strategically catapult you to leadership. This type of thinking makes me a versatile football candidate, as I am willing to be moved out of my comfort zone to do what's best for the team.
