My name is Eric Roden. I live in a small town in Alabama and we love our football. Football has always been like a religion to me I live, breath, and sweat football. My coaches could always count on me on and off the field and I would still do anything for them to this day. I have played both offense and defense all my life. In the off season I wrestled on the JV and Varsity wrestling team for Southside High School. Wrestling showed me my fifth gear and how I can work harder than I thought.I have attended Nick Sabans Football Camp at the University of Alabama and Jacksonville State University Football Camp. I have received several honors from football. I was awarded the Defensive Player of the Year, played on several All Star teams, and our team won the championship twice. After my middle school season ended I was pulled up to play on Southside High School Varsity team for the last two weeks of the season.
I have a 3.8 GPA, am a member of the National Beta Club, and have received the Good Student of the Month Award. I love fly fishing and am a member of Rainbow City Auction Fly Fishing Club. I am not sure what I want to do when I grow up. What I do know is that I want to play football in high school and college and am willing to work hard to get there. I was taught at a young age that I could do anything when I put my heart into it.
