When I first joined community club football at Atom level, I wasn’t sure football was going to be a good fit for me. I was chubby, visually impaired, unconfident and I didn’t believe in myself that I could go far with it. It was fun and I loved the game, but something changed with football. I changed, I learned and I envisioned all the possibilities how football could elevate me physically, mentally, academically and athletically. The journey to now has been tumultuous and challenging, and the path ahead of me will be even more so. But what’s the difference between then and now?…….I am ready. I am capable and have the capacity and motivation to work towards my goals, both short-term and long term. I believe. I am self-assured that I can achieve those goals through hard work and dedication. My ceiling of potential is high; my passion for football even greater. I am coachable, accountable, intelligent, resourceful and determined. At only 5’10”, 220 lbs, in less than a year after completing my last season of Bantam, I earned a starting position on the 14U Alberta Selects International football team where I competed in San Antonio, Texas, and was awarded Most outstanding lineman. I have been selected for the Canadian Football Chat (CFC)/CJFL Prospects Youth Game in Ottawa, where the top 50 prospects in the nation, in my division, will be showcased. I am enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program at Harry Ainlay High School for the upcoming Grade 10 year, where I will work hard to excel academically and maintain my 4.0 GPA, while balancing my athleticism through the high school football team. My goal is to persevere, overcome and grind to earn a scholarship and play college football as a stepping stone to earning my degree and playing professional football. With hard work, tempered with hubris, I have grown into the strong, capable, confident leader and young man I am today and am cognizant of how my actions, speech, work ethic and behaviour exemplify that and reflect the support and education of my coaches, family, teammates, and friends.
