My goal in being a team member of a collegiate football team is taking it as far as being drafted in the NFL as the first Native Navajo to be entered as one. I put in time and effort into being one of the best if not the best on a program. My difference from other athletes is the ability to always find the good and bad and work from that, not to just give up and let losses be a loss. My athletics compared to others is in a 3 sport athlete in football, wrestling and track. Of all sports I’ve received recognition and medals in all sports participated in. Another say to that is I have no off season, once I’m done with a sport I move to the next season starting right back into the weight room or training for that sport, staying in shape all year only getting better each season. Academic wise, I’d say I’m one of the better ones who pay attention in school with the stress of home, sports and training on my shoulder still making me earn my 3.5 GPA. The thing that separates me from the rest is I know hurt, I’ve started from the near, If not the bottom and worked to the top and stayed there, causing me to be the best on the field, the classroom, at home and being the role model to other athletes. I take my achievements and opportunities humbled than any other.
Thankful for the opportunity,
Juan Curley III
